Welcome to the Community Accounts Service

Accounting Support for not-for-profits

Accounting is essential for all business; but those in the not-for-profit sector have much higher accountability and reporting requirements, and can mean they are a lot more dependent on professional accounting services. These services can be expensive, and a financial drain especially on smaller organisations.

We have the solution.....

  • We are a registered charity.
  • We receive funding to help us provide affordable Accounting Support for community organisations.
  • This means, community organisations save on overheads, and improve efficiency with their financial reporting, including tracking of funding, accountability reporting, budgeting, and year end reporting to Charities.  Audit or Review fees are reduced, because the information going to the auditor is balanced and accurate.
  • As well as providing direct accounting services to community organisations, we also provide training and mentoring to raise the skill levels of treasurers and administration staff. This also reduces dependencies on external accountants.

NEWSLETTER DECEMBER 2021

DECEMBER 2021......

Merry Christmas to all my valued Clients!!

Its been a busy year for CAS, as we continue to grow, and look at employing staff/volunteers in 2022 to cope with the work load.

Our client base continues to grow, and we have a great range of clients, from very small, to much larger groups.

This year we applied for, and were fortunate to receive funding from various groups, which means we can continue to provide an excellent service, at low rates.

We received funding from the Community Organisation Grants Scheme; Perpetual Guardian; the Timaru District Council, and most recently, were fortunate to secure funding of $7500.00 from Community Trust Mid and South Canterbury, in their recent round.  A fabulous result for us, as we continue to support not-for-profit groups in the Timaru and surrounding districts.

We have kept up with online training and  maintained our Xero Practice Status, and now are proudly "SILVER" status.

I have also maintained my Xero ADVISOR CERTIFICATION, and PAYROLL CERTIFICATION.

(Thanks to Xero for the lovely gift basket).

Looking forward to 2022.......and working with you all again.....

Please note - our office will be closed from 24th December 2021 - re-opening on Monday 10th January 2022.  If you have urgent issues, please email me, as I will check these over the holidays.

Regards
